RECAP: PRETTY LITTLE LIARS SEASON 5 EPISODE 6 – RUN, ALI, RUN

If a mystery is defined as “anything that is kept secret or remains unexplained or unknown,” then Pretty Little Liars isn’t about a mystery—or 20—but rather, the show itself is a mystery.

For more than four seasons, there has been one central question: Who is “A”? That’s what viewers want to know. Along the way, we’ve also asked smaller things like, “Is Ali alive?” “Who is board shorts?” “What does the N.A.T. Club have to do with any of it?” And yet, six episodes into season 5, we still don’t know the true mastermind behind the “A” team. Sure, there was Mona, and Toby was involved at one point, and then you had Shana, but what this episode proved is that “A” still has just as much momentum as ever. Honestly, “A” might be more on top of his or her game than ever before. And thankfully, as “A” progresses, so does the show.

According to a Season 2 finale promo and a screen shot from episode 13, someone in “Devious Maids” will meet their brutal demise – and we think we know who it is. After Spence and Rosie tie the knot in “Looks Back in Anger,” tragedy will strike in the most horrific way possible. A masked gunman will drive pass the newlyweds and their guests with one thing on their mind: to kill. But it looks like it’s little Barrett, the Powell’s son, who is unable to dodge the bullet.

“Haunting” and “earth-shifting” are just a few of the words star Rebecca Wisockyuses to describe Sunday’s Devious Maids finale (Lifetime, 10/9c), which is sure to make last season’s Flora reveallook like child’s play.

This season has been, for the most part, pretty fun for Evelyn. Have you enjoyed that levity?
Oh, I like it all. I like all 50 shades of Evelyn. [Laughs] There’s more like 50 million shades of Evelyn. But it’s been fun to play up her vulnerable side; those contradictions are what makes her interesting and plausible and not just a raging bitch. It’s dangerous for someone like her to show her vulnerability, and I loved that in her moment of weakness, Adrian chose to be selflessly kind. He didn’t seem to be getting rewarded by it — at least not by Evelyn.

RECAP: PRETTY LITTLE LIARS SEASON 5 EPISODE 5 – MISS ME X 100

Pretty Little Liars” Season 5 episode 5 – “Miss Me X 100” – not only marks the series’ 100^th episode but the return of “A.” That’s right! “A” is back and ready to kick butt and take names.

In a show’s 100th episode, you need to swing for the fences, and boy did Pretty Little Liars knock it out of the park. The episode packed in enough plot momentum for a whole season, while still taking time for character moments and beats for each of the girls.

On tonight’s episode the day has finally arrived – Alison’s first day back at Rosewood High, and neither the PLLs nor Alison are really ready for it. Determined to put on a brave face, Alison returns to also help heal the damage she did years ago. But are apologies enough for those who Alison has hurt in the past? Not if Mona and her army have anything to say about it.
